Oatmeal Waffles for Mom

oatmeal waffles

There is nothing better than spending time with my family. Our kids make Greg and I so proud, and we are the textbook grandparents. Do not ask us about our grandbaby if you do not want us to pull out our phones and show you many photos or videos.

Wes and Savannah have both made plans for Mother’s Day. Wes is grilling steaks, and Savannah has planned a fun girl’s day, starting with brunch and then shopping.

When my kids were small, Greg let them help with Mother’s Day breakfast. We may have tried the breakfast in bed thing once or twice, but to be honest, that’s a little messy for me.

If you want an easy recipe for the kiddos to help out with, these oatmeal waffles are perfect! Just pull up a chair and let them pour, measure or stir. Even the younger kids can watch for the green light on the waffle maker. Then, they will beam with pride when they serve those waffles to mommy.

These waffles are exceptional, topped with real butter, warmed maple syrup, fresh fruit, and sprinkled with powdered sugar and cinnamon.

Hi, I'm Amye. I started Not Just Sunday Dinner in 2011 after moving back to Georgia. I grew up in North Georgia and have lived in different parts of Georgia most of my life. After living in Florida for five years we moved back to Georgia in the summer of 2009. I've always loved Georgia, but now Florida holds a special place in my heart as well. I have been married for 26 years to a wonderful man, Greg. We have two children, Wes, 21 years old and a third year college student, and Savannah, 18 years old and a freshman in college. Greg and I have started "dating" again. Since the kids only want to see us when they need money
